This policy explains how Damian Grant Wood, a sole proprietor trading as Damian Wood ("I", "me"), collects and uses your personal information when you visit this website, make a booking, or attend a session. It is written to follow South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

I am the responsible party and information officer for this practice.

What I collect

• Booking details: the session you choose, its date and time, your payment status and any answers you give when booking.
• Payment confirmation: whether a payment succeeded and its amount. Card details are handled by the payment provider. I do not receive or store your full card number.
• Session information: anything you choose to share with me, which may include details of your health, beliefs or personal life.
• Website information: technical data such as your IP address, browser and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar tools.

Why I use it

• To take, confirm, manage and remind you about bookings.
• To take payments, issue refunds and keep financial records.
• To provide your session and reply to your enquiries.
• To protect the website from spam and misuse, and to understand how it is used.
• To meet my legal and tax obligations.

I rely on your consent, the need to perform our agreement, my legal obligations and my legitimate interests in running this practice safely.

Sensitive information

Details about your health or beliefs are special personal information under POPIA. I only use what you choose to share, with your consent, and only to provide your session. You do not have to share anything you are not comfortable sharing.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your personal information. I share it only with service providers that help me run this practice, and only as needed:

• Booklink: online booking, confirmations and reminders.
• Yoco: card payments.
• Google: calendar, email, Google Meet video sessions and website analytics.
• Website hosting, security and anti-spam providers, including WordPress and Jetpack tools.

I may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Transfers outside South Africa

Some of these providers may store or process information outside South Africa. By using this website and booking a session, you agree to this transfer. I use established providers with their own data protection commitments.

How long I keep it

I keep personal information only for as long as I need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. Financial records are kept for at least five years.

Cookies

This website uses cookies to function properly and to help me understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the website may then not work as expected.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your information against loss and unauthorised access. No website or online service is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to its use, or withdraw your consent. To do so, contact me using the details above. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
